Polyurethane
Definition:-
Polyurethane is a versatile polymer based on polyether and/or polyester polyols and modified aromatic diisocyanates.
Application:-
Polyurethane has various applications such as an adhesive, encapsulate / potting, rigid foam, in automobile and industrial applications.
Curing Mechanism:-
One component system - Polyurethanes react with atmospheric moisture, to cure into a tough urethane polymer.
Two component system - cures at lower & higher temperature with base catalyst, where isocyanates reacts with hydroxyl groups to form urethane polymer network.
Packing, storing, shelf life and transport
One component system: available packing sizes vary from 300 ml to 600 ml, packed in HDPE cartridges or aluminium sausage packs and 20 lit drum. Store products at 20 – 30 C. Shelf life can vary from 4 - 6 months. They are safe to transport by road, air and sea.
Two component system: available packing sizes vary from 1 litre to 200 litre, packed in tin containers & MS drums. Store products at 20 – 30 C, Shelf life can vary from 4 - 12 months. They are safe to transport by road, air and sea.
